Fireflies.ai is best known as an AI notetaker that joins video calls, records them and produces transcripts and summaries. It now pitches itself as a system for acting on conversations: AI “skills” that update CRMs and draft follow-ups, real-time assistance during calls, voice agents that run interviews and analytics on what was said. This review looks at what Fireflies documents today, what each plan includes and where it fits.

What it is

Fireflies.ai is a meeting assistant that works with Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, with dialers such as Aircall and RingCentral, and with uploaded audio and video files. It also offers a mobile app for in-person conversations, a desktop app and an API. Recordings become searchable transcripts with summaries, action items and analytics. Our Fireflies.ai directory entry gives a short overview.

Key features

  • Transcription. Fireflies claims 95% accuracy, speaker recognition and automatic language detection. Its pricing FAQ says English is the primary language, with Spanish, French, Portuguese and Italian supported and more than 100 other languages in beta.
  • AI summaries and AskFred. Summaries include an overview, bullet points, action items and custom notes; AskFred answers questions about meetings and is listed on the free plan.
  • AI Skills. More than 200 skills that automate follow-up work such as CRM updates, candidate scoring, follow-up emails and deal-risk flags, on paid plans.
  • Live Assist and Personal Assistant. Real-time suggestions, coaching and answers during meetings, on paid plans.
  • Voice Agents. AI agents that run screening interviews, discovery calls and check-ins, with a transcript and summary afterwards.
  • Conversation intelligence. Talk-time, sentiment, topic trackers and AI filters, with team-level analytics and Deal Intelligence on Business.
  • Integrations. More than 100 tools, including CRMs, project management and applicant tracking systems and Slack, plus MCP support for assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT.
  • Security. Fireflies lists AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS in transit, SOC 2 Type II, ISO 42001 and GDPR compliance, with HIPAA and FERPA coverage on Enterprise when Private Storage is used.

Pricing

At the time of writing (October 2026), Fireflies’ official pricing article lists (US dollars, per seat):

Plan Annual billing Monthly billing Storage Highlights
Free $0 $0 400 minutes per team Unlimited transcription and summaries, AskFred, 2-hour meetings
Pro $10/month $18/month 8,000 minutes per seat Video recording, downloads, AI Skills, Live Assist, unlimited integrations
Business $19/month $29/month Unlimited Multi-language mode, team conversation intelligence, admin controls, 3-hour meetings
Enterprise $39/month Annual only Unlimited SSO, SCIM, HIPAA, private storage, custom retention, 4-hour meetings

Fireflies says AI features use credits charged per request according to complexity, with limits that vary by tier, but it does not publish per-plan credit amounts on the pages we reviewed.

Strengths

The free plan is useful. Unlimited transcription and AI summaries, plus AskFred, let individuals rely on Fireflies for everyday meetings without paying, although storage limits apply.

Paid plans are inexpensive for what they do. At $10 per seat per month billed annually, Pro adds video recording, downloads, unlimited integrations and AI Skills.

The automation layer is broad. Pushing summaries and action items into CRMs, project tools and Slack, and exposing meeting data to other assistants through MCP, turns a transcript archive into something that feeds the rest of a team’s workflow. Sales teams in particular get conversation and deal analytics that would otherwise require a dedicated revenue intelligence product.

Limitations

Storage on the free plan is small. 400 minutes per team is used up after a handful of long meetings, so active users will need Pro.

Language support is uneven. English is the primary language; other major European languages are supported, but most of the 100+ languages Fireflies advertises are labelled beta on its pricing page. Multilingual teams should test transcription quality on their own meetings, and multi-language mode is a Business feature.

Consent and privacy need management. A bot that records meetings can capture sensitive information and, in many jurisdictions, requires the consent of every participant. HIPAA and FERPA coverage applies only on Enterprise with Private Storage. Our explainer on how AI meeting note-takers work and their privacy issues covers what to put in place.

AI credit limits are opaque. Without published per-plan amounts, heavy users of AI Skills and AskFred cannot easily predict when they will hit a cap.

Who it’s for

  • Sales and customer success teams that want CRM updates and deal analytics from calls.
  • Recruiters using scoring and voice agents for screening interviews.
  • Remote teams that want searchable records of meetings across platforms.
  • Individuals who want a capable free notetaker.

Alternatives

  • Otter.ai — a long-established notetaker with live transcription.
  • Microsoft 365 Copilot — meeting recaps inside Teams for Microsoft 365 organizations.
  • Notion AI — meeting notes inside a docs and wiki workspace.

Verdict

Fireflies.ai earns 4 out of 5. Its documented feature set covers transcription, summaries, automation, analytics and integrations at modest per-seat prices, and the compliance options are solid for larger organizations. We hold back a point because the free plan’s storage is small, much of its advertised language support is in beta, AI credit limits are not clearly published, and meeting recording places real consent obligations on the teams that use it.
