Overview
Codestral was released in May 2024 as Mistral AI’s first model dedicated to code. It was trained on more than 80 programming languages and supports fill-in-the-middle, which lets editors complete code between existing lines. Weights were published under a non-production license, with commercial use through Mistral’s API.
